Digging My Ditch

It seems to me that my biggest enemy is myself.  I never fail to add another layer of confusion to my already complicated existence. Never the less, here I am... Adding more and more every day. Makes me realize more and more why people take off. Why people pack their favorite shirt, throw in a pair of flip-flops, the best of Jimmy Buffett collection, and ditch the real world... whatever you think it is. Bernard Moitessier was set to be the first to sail and circumnavigate the globe single handed. Almost to the record he left the race and sailed to the southern islands.

“My intention is to continue the voyage, still non-stop, towards the Pacific Islands, where there is plenty of sun and more peace then Europe.“

He gave up fame and fortune to save his soul. He left all the glory to other sailors and he took Joshua (He Sailboat) and left the world to everyone else.

I am going where you can tie up a boat where you want and the sun is free, and so is the air you breathe and the sea where you swim and you can roast yourself on a coral reef..."
