Ocean Star

It has been two years today since I walked aboard S/Y Ocean Star. I joined 13 strangers in a new world and an amazing adventure. Life has a tendency to get overwhelmingly mundane and the day to day reality has squashed me recently.

Then tonight I got a call from the East Coast and on the other end was my very own Reverend. Well, half a Reverend and (honestly) half drunk tonight, but he is a dude that has lived a life. One of the greatest people on earth and next to him one of the greatest chicks in the world. Both of these I am proud to call family and both great sailors aboard Ocean Star.

They called tonight to remind me it was two years since we meet and started our crazy trip. It was 80 days of our lives that meant more to me than the rest combined. The stories, the jokes, and the relationships we built are stronger than most families.

The last night of our trip we all wrote a note card to each person on board. Just between one person and the other. What ever you wanted to tell that person. I have 13 (Well, 14. But one is just  Clancy's "Fuck You") and I keep them around most of the time. I took the time to read through them (for the 183495853th time) and all the memories came back.

So, here is to you guys. We are all over the county, but I love you guys the same.
