I spent this last weekend with a great friend camping towards central Oregon. The weather held out for us and we had a chance to hike up a creek to the north of our camp. We were told it could be a seasonal snow melt, but no one seemed to know much more. We slugged through for about 2 and a half hours up the creek. No trail to be seen, just river rocks and recent land slides. Every few hundred yards we would come across an animal bed site. A good number from the looks of them. Our hike was coming to an end as the hill sides disappeared and the creek was turning into a canyon that was not looking friendly to travel. My friend Kyle turned the next corner and to our surprise we found a beautiful and unexpectedly large set of waterfalls. We guess about 100 ft in height and separated into 3 different levels. After a quick lunch stop and a handful of photos we trekked back into the camp about a mile or a mile and a half. We stopped at our park rangers camp and asked about the falls. Once again no one knew anything about them. So, with out any help from the locals we felt they deserved a name. The two of us being the great explorers we feel we are, decided it was our right to do so. We came up with "The Luckiest Man Falls".
